Questions about sending documents
What your recipients have to do, and what the finished file can prove.
Do my recipients need an account?
No. They get a link, open the document and sign. Nothing to install, no password to create, no seat to buy.
How many people can I send a document to?
As many as the document needs, on either plan. Recipients and documents are unlimited; only how long the files are kept differs between Free and Pro.
What is in the audit trail?
Every open, comment, approval and signature, each stamped with the time, IP address and device behind it. When the last party signs, the whole record is hashed and appended to the PDF as a certificate page.
Is an electronic signature legally binding?
Electronic signatures are recognised in most countries, including under the US ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation. What decides a dispute is the evidence behind the signature, which is what the audit certificate is for. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I chase someone who has not signed?
Yes. You can see exactly who has opened the document and who has not, and send a reminder on Pro without starting the thread again.
What happens after everyone signs?
The document is finalised, the certificate is attached, and everyone involved gets the completed PDF. It verifies on its own, without needing us.
